Alexander Russell Slagle
(December 24th, 1900 to July 4th, 1993)
As the former chairman of the committee of Genealogy and Heraldry at the Maryland Historical Society, my Uncle Russell devoted the second half of his life to tracing our Schlegel ancestry back to the middle 1400s. His first book, The Slagle Family in America, descended from The Schlegel von Gottleben Family of Germany
was published in 1967

I am working on a book of my own that I hope will be available within a year or two, depending upon circumstances such as finding a publisher, the time I have allotted to work on the novel, as well as other various factors. I hope to pick up where Alexander R. Slagle, my uncle, left off, or ended, within the genealogy section of our family.
